who this is for
those who want a bold female lead, secrets stacked on secrets, and a romance that builds so slow it'll have you yelling at your book by the end
OG's personal synopsis
Remira has been running her brother's throne from the shadows this whole time and nobody knows it. she's the one collecting everybody's secrets and using them to keep him in power, while he barely protects her or cares about what happens to her. then a mysterious guy named Kaidren shows up claiming a seat that nobody knew was even his, and he has a power that lets him sense exactly what she's hiding the second he touches her.
so now it's not just about keeping her brother on the throne anymore. it's about her own secret staying buried. and the more time she spends trying to outsmart Kaidren, the more she realizes he might be the only person who's ever actually paid attention to her.
I went in expecting moody and badass, and that's exactly what I got. Gabi Burton writes women who lead and run things and I am here for it. the tension built slow and had me talking to my book by the end. 10 stars, I'm already thinking about book two.
