estranged sisters Karina and Candace come back into each otherâs lives after the passing of their grandmother and years of hurt, unspoken words and secrets.Their grandmotherâs passing left the door open for forgiveness but past secrets were exposed that changed the trajectory of the lives of everyone involved. Both Karina and Candace felt justified in the actions they took that left one another in the dark about important experiences that each other faced.Â
Karina felt she was being a protective sister while Candace felt betrayed by things that occurred in their childhood.
Shanae's thoughts: this book was a five star read for me. The writing and the drama that was taking place in this book had me on the edge of my seat. I really appreciated how the author wrote in way that allowed me to not only picture the characters but all the scenes that took place in the book. I also like that the book left the door open for more drama to unfold in another book.
